Back in the Hospital

We are back in the hospital again. Lincoln had a really bad/long seizure at home yesterday. I was home with the boys by myself and therefore scared to death. I ended up calling 911 because he was non responsive and the seizure lasted for 10-15 minutes. Josh got home right after the ambulance got there so he rode with Lincoln and Dominic and I followed. They started him on some strong drugs through an IV to get the seizures stopped and he was admitted to the children's hospital. We had some seizures throughout the afternoon, during the night and a couple this morning. They had hoped that with the medicines that they were giving him that it would stop the seizures, but since it didn't they had to keep him overnight. This morning they did an EEG. His doctor read the results of that and said that it seems that the seizures are no longer specific to one portion of his brain-they seem to be affecting additional areas. She feels that is the reason why they are more frequent again and also why they have become more intense. She is keeping him overnight again tonight to keep observing him until she sees the medicine having more of an effect on stopping the seizures. She is consulting with the doctors at the Mayo Clinic to see if they have any other ideas. So our wait and see game is being played out at the hospital for now. We'll update you when we know more.
